Celebrating 25 Years!
In honor of 25 years of changing children's lives, all new and increased donations will be matched! Donate Now
In 1984 Dan Corley and his college roommate Bob Hahn founded Community Prep with three teachers and 25 students in rented classrooms at the John Hope Settlement House. Today, as Community Prep celebrates its 25th anniversary, we also celebrate 23 graduating classes – 541 children from our community, 92% of whom have been accepted into college-preparatory high school programs. In addition, 83% of college-age alumni are enrolled in college or have earned their degrees. They have earned more than $17 million in scholarships.
Looking ahead, Community Prep will continue to grow and serve the children of greater Providence. The 25th Anniversary Fund for the Future will raise $1 million for school renovations, a new school bus and a 25th Anniversary Fund to ensure Community Prep will be a place of inspiration and achievement for the next 25 years.
Helping us to celebrate our 25th year, two generous donors, Susan and David Hibbitt, have put forth a challenge. They will match all new or increased gifts (increased by 25% or more) this year, dollar for dollar and will match 2:1 all gifts from alumni and families of current and former students.
